‘Purveyors of Fine Taste’ is a visual-arts-cum-performance installation born from Motus Collective’s interest in the myriad of ways viewers interpret art, and the subversion of this socio-political phenomenon on the performing body.

Motus Collective asks the viewer to observe their own inner mechanisms of observation in the act of labelling art, and through this act the dialogue of art and viewer, performer and audience, intention and interpretation, becomes more tangible, playful, personal and abstract. The experience is a reference to kinetic stillness and the body politic, to the object and the person, and to the power dynamics inherent in the interpretation and performance of art itself.
