Q: What happens when a clown, a showgirl, and a disastrous bisexual walk into a room to talk about love?

A: Total chaos.

TRIFLE

Creative Team

Trifle is an innovative cross-artform experiment that leads audiences through the performers’ personal experiences and stories of love and connection. It is bold, exuberant and unapologetic in its visual design, costuming and presentation.

Trifle stemmed from a triple layered experiment, prepared by three different chefs in the same kitchen, with the same ingredients. Motus Collective wanted to create a work that was big, bold, fun and most importantly accessible to all audiences. So what better thing to talk about than love: it’s big, it’s terrifying, it’s magnificient!

Each choreographer shared their experience and encounters of love, the many shapes it takes, the ups, the downs and everything in between. Excess and exaggeration stand as a visual metaphor for love: the complex and changing chemical connections within ourselves that continuously occur. Audiences are invited to reflect on their own experiences of love through following the performers’ narrative journey.
